For parents who have lost a child

Compassionate Friends. This is a non-denominational organization of parents who provide support to other bereaved parents by sharing their experience on this very difficult journey. The facilitators are volunteers, there is no charge, and parents will never be solicited, for anything.

Below is the information for the Central Middlesex Chapter. The nearest CF meeting is in Concord, at Trinity Episcopal Church, on the first Monday of every month.

Concord: First Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. Trinity Episcopal Church, River Street Entrance, Concord, Massachusetts

Needham:
2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 7:30 p.m. (No 4th Thursday, July, August; Nov. and Dec.) Greendale Avenue Worship Center, 754 Greendale Avenue, Needham.
Chapter also offers a Sibling support group for ages 18+, which meets on the 2nd Thursday of each month at the same 7:30 p.m. time. The sibling group does not meet in July.

One Bright Star is a non-profit organization offering financial and counseling support for families who have experienced the death of a child. One Bright Star’s mission is to be a resource for families who have lost a child to death and has created a unique star symbol to recognize and support them.

The MISS Foundation is a 501 (c) 3, volunteer based organization committed to providing crisis support and long term aid to families after the death of a child from any cause. MISS also participates in legislative and advocacy issues, community engagement and volunteerism, and culturally competent, multidisciplinary, education opportunities.

Bereaved Parents of the USA is a non-denominational organization designed to support bereaved parents and their families. Any bereaved parent, sibling or grandparent is welcome to attend monthly meetings as often and as long as necessary to meet their needs.

Pregnancy and Infant Loss support groups can be found at Rindy’s Hope, which has a monthly support group in Woburn for parents after miscarriage, stillbirth or infant death. Families from all over travel to this wonderful group that has been around for over 25 years.

For Children who have lost a Parent

The Children's Room in Arlington is a program for grieving children and teens with a counterpart for parents, if there are siblings.
