Make Your Personal Brand a Major Asset

Make Your Personal Brand a Major Asset

When: Thursday, February 7, 2019 at 5:30pm
Where: UMass Lowell Innovation Hub, 110 Canal Street, Lowell MA

You already have a brand, whether you know it or not. The impression you make, the way you present yourself, the work you produce, the feeling people have after interacting with you and the reputation that follows or precedes you all add up to your personal brand. Are you in control of it? Is your current personal brand an asset, a liability or just an opportunity waiting to happen?

Lorna Boucher will lead this session and explore how to define and consciously build your personal brand through long¬ term strategic thinking, personal insight and consistent implementation across an array of communication channels. She will help you develop some tools that define and differentiate the "true you" and empower you to build a personal brand that becomes an asset to your career.

LORNA BOUCHER is Managing Director and Chief Marketing Officer of Instinet Holdings Incorporated, the agency-model brokerage boutique owned by Japan’s leading bank, Nomura Group. She serves on Instinet’s Executive Committee, the global firm’s senior most leadership team.

Lorna has always embraced the challenge of driving change, of leading a company at a major pivot point in its marketing or brand strategy. Over the course of her 25+ year career, Lorna has held senior roles in Marketing and Brand Management for major sell-side and buy-side financial firms such as Bankers Trust Company, Gilder Gagnon Howe & Co., UBS Investment Bank, and KCG Holdings.

In November 2017, Markets Media, a financial services industry media company, honored Lorna with the Women in Finance Award for Excellence in Marketing; an award called “Marketing Maven”.

Lorna has a B.S.B.A. in Marketing and International Management from the Manning School of Business at UMass Lowell, and is currently a member of The Manning School’s Board of Advisors. She created a scholarship endowment for the business school, focused on women undergrad students. In 2017, Lorna was named Alumni of the Year by the Manning School. A native of Lowell, Lorna resides in New York City and Cape Cod.
