Seniors Helping Seniors® simple yet innovative model - peers helping peers - provides seniors (50 years and older) who are still active a meaningful way to enhance the quality of life of those they are supporting.
With a lifetime of personal and professional experiences, our older adult helpers relate on a truly interpersonal level, making the whole process of helping and getting help more meaningful and dignifying.
What do our care partners do? We fight loneliness. We help seniors engage in activities that they once enjoyed but no longer can do alone. We engage them in conversation. We take them out to reconnect with and enjoy their neighborhood. We have lunch. We go to the symphony. We help seniors who are socially isolated reconnect.
So who comprises our team of helping professionals? Our caring and devoted team of men and women come from a diverse range of professional backgrounds - retired teachers, nurses, lawyers, accountants to name a few. Really any older adult that shows compassion, good judgement and the desire to give back.
While our staff are compensated for their time, this is an opportunity to maybe try something different, step out of your comfort zone and connect with peers in a different and meaningful way for both of you.
Seniors Helping Seniors also offers:
*Flexible schedules from 6 or 8 hours a week up to 30+ hours
*An interesting and diverse client base
