Lexington Farmers' Market - Local Food for SNAP Silent Auction Tuesday, September 17 2:00 - 6:30 PM

Lexington Farmers' Market - Local Food for SNAP Silent Auction Tuesday, September 17 2:00 - 6:30 PM

The Lexington Farmers’ Market will be holding its popular Local Food for SNAP Silent Auction on Tuesday, September 17 from 2-6 pm (market stays open until 6:30 PM) with an exciting and fun range of products donated by LFM farmers, vendors, artisans and volunteers.

The SNAP auction features a vibrant collection of themed baskets including Pasta Abbondante Dinner, Game Day, Cocktail Party Sips & Nibbles, and Good Morning Breakfast Basket, filled with delicious contributions from local farms and food producers, as well as items such as classes at Kids Cooking Green, tours of 1634 Meadery and Copicut Farms and handmade works by local LFM artisans.

Started in 2010 by beloved Lexington resident Dr. Daniel Palant, the SNAP auction supports the weekly $15 match program for the LFM’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, increasing access to healthy food for individuals and families in need. As more families, seniors and individuals in need of food assistance are buying healthy, local food at farmers’ markets, the market now sees an average of 25 customers using SNAP each week. This year, the LFM is projected to need $9,000 for the SNAP match program, with the Local Food for SNAP auction as the LFM’s biggest fundraiser. The weekly Tuesday market is held at the corner of Massachusetts Ave, Fletcher Ave, and Woburn Street in Lexington. For more information and a complete list of items, visit our website (www.lexingtonfarmersmarket.org) or email lexingtonfarmersmkt@gmail.com.

You'll find the best in local food and farms at the Lexington Farmers' Market every Tuesday, from May 28th - October 29th, 2-6:30PM (Closing at 6PM in October). The market is held at the corner of Massachusetts Avenue and Fletcher Avenue at Woburn St, with parking available. The LFM accepts SNAP and doubles SNAP dollars up to $15 per week.
