Carroll Center for the Blind's 6th Annual Walk for INDEPENDENCE

Carroll Center for the Blind's 6th Annual Walk for INDEPENDENCE

Join us at the Carroll Center for the Blind's 6th Annual Walk for INDEPENDENCE on Sunday, April 29th, 2018—you won’t want to miss out!

From exciting games to great food, this is more than the average awareness walk; it’s an experience. The Walk for INDEPENDENCE is meant to bring the community together to celebrate and support our mission: to provide skills training and education to the blind and visually impaired to achieve independence and to lead a fulfilling life.

This year we welcome Shayna Seymour, Chronicle Anchor, as our Emcee and WCVB Channel 5 ABC as our television media sponsor.

The day will kick off with a one (1) mile and three (3) mile walk around the scenic neighborhoods of Newton Center. Bring along your guide dog or family pets - all are welcome to enjoy a cookout, great music, accessible activities and games, giveaways, and much more.

6th Annual Walk for INDEPENDENCE Activities Include:
- 1 & 3 Mile Walk
- Cookout
- Balloon Animals
- Face Painting
- Scavenger Hunt
- Giant Jenga
- Beep Ball
- Silent Auction
- Bounce House
and more!

Help us raise funds and bring awareness to the issues facing the local blind and visually impaired community, all while having a good time with family and friends. Did we mention the dogs?

This year we are anticipating over 500 people and our fundraising goal is $160,000 - we need your help!
