Block Party & Fall ArtWalk

Block Party & Fall ArtWalk

Lexington Artists Display Talent this Summer …
More to come this Fall

Lexington's Artwalk Committee introduced a new town initiative this summer, a twist on the “block party” of years gone by, which also respects the need for social distancing. Starting in early July, retailers around Lexington offered their windows to exhibit 4” x 4” wood blocks that were repurposed as works of art. The creative pool of artists includes residents and local talent. Over 75 blocks have been submitted, curated and exhibited throughout Lexington, with more entries coming. This was a great opportunity for Lexingtonians to unleash their imagination and spice up Lexington Center shop windows, and invites us all to take a stroll and enjoy artwork by friends, colleagues and neighbors.

ArtWalk this fall:
ArtWalk will be launched this coming fall. As with Block Party, the artists do not have to be from Lexington, and pieces can reflect all media including 2D & 3D art. Submissions and registration fees ($10) are due by October 4th. For more information, visit this web page. https://www.munroecenter.org/artwalk---call.html

“This summer, Lexington’s Block Party has created a special opportunity for inspiration, color and imagination, to lighten your hearts and enjoy a walk through Lexington,“ says ArtWalk Committee member Jean Hart.
