Lexington Symphony Presents "European Delights"

Lexington Symphony Presents "European Delights"

Guest conductor David Hoose leads Lexington Symphony in an adventurous sampling of European musical fare at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 11, 2015. The appetizer for this delectable musical feast is Mendelssohn’s boisterous “Italian” Symphony No. 4. Offered up as the next course is English composer Sir Edward Elgar’s poignant and romantic Serenade for Strings. Imparting the final flavor of the evening, the Symphony's own wonderful pianist, Paul Carlson, performs one of the most beloved Russian piano concertos of all time — Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1 — balancing out this very European presentation for the senses. Tickets, which are priced at $50/$40/$30 and $15 for students, can be purchased online at www.lexingtonsymphony.org, by phone at 781-523-9009, or at the door at Lexington High School Auditorium, 251 Waltham Street, Lexington, MA.
