Representative Jay Kaufman's award winning public policy forum, "OPEN HOUSE," takes another in-depth look at an upcoming ballot question, this time #4, legalizing the use of recreational marijuana.  
 
What are the ramifications of legalized marijuana? Is marijuana a "gateway drug"? Isn't pot no more harmful than alcohol and tobacco? What has happened in other states that have legalized marijuana? How much tax revenue will the Commonwealth realize? With both sides making contradictory claims, who do I believe?  
 
Joining Representative Kaufman in the forum and speaking in SUPPORT of Question 4 is his colleague in the House, Cambridge Representative David ROGERS. Rep. Rogers was first elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 2012 and currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the Joint Committee on Technology and Intergovernmental Affairs. Prior to his election, he practiced law at a leading Boston law firm for over 15 years. He also previously worked in the congressional office of Congresswoman Eva Clayton of North Carolina, the first African-American woman elected from either of the Carolinas since Reconstruction.  
 
Speaking in OPPOSITION to Question 4 is Winchester State Senator Jason LEWIS. Senator Lewis was elected to the Senate in 2014, after serving five years in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He is the Senate Chair of the Joint Committee on Public Health, Chair of the Special Senate Committee on Marijuana, and Vice-Chair of the Senate Committee on Steering and Policy. Lewis, a South African native, previously worked in the private sector, helping to build two successful software companies. He worked at McKinsey & Company, a global management consulting firm, and later was the Senior Vice President of Marketing at Endeca Technologies, a venture capital-backed software company in Cambridge that is now owned by Oracle.
