Become a Dare Foster Parent

Become a Dare Foster Parent

Dare’s Intensive Foster Care program provides homes for children in the custody of the Massachusetts Department of Children and Families (DCF). Many have been removed from their families after having suffered abuse and/or neglect.

Dare Family Services’ primary mission is to find, train and support loving homes that will help children become resilient and overcome the trauma of serious abuse and neglect. Every child will be given a life, education, and a road to normal adulthood. We will also counsel and support biological families who are struggling to raise and keep their children.

Whether you are married, single, divorced, or an empty nester—YOU can become a foster parent and change a child’s life. Our foster parents provide a safe and healthy home environment. They are part of a supportive team of caregivers, including social workers and therapists.

We also welcome respite care providers that take care of a child for short time periods (a couple days to a week) while a foster parent is on vacation (everyone needs some self-care/downtime).

If you have any questions or would like to learn more about foster care at Dare Family Services please reach out to Jeremy Lockett-Family Resource Coordinator at jlockett@darefamily.org or 617-628-3696.
