And since you know you cannot see yourself
So well as by reflection, I your glass
Will modestly discover to yourself
That of yourself which you yet know not of.
– William Shakespeare (Julius Caesar)
From earliest childhood, we’re fascinated by our reflections. Throughout history and across all cultures, artists and writers have used mirror imagery and symbolism to speak directly to our inner selves. We look into a mirror to celebrate, criticize, judge and validate our own image… and we turn the mirror around to confront and question others, asking “What do you see?” Mirrors bring light to dark corners, surprise with unexpected insights and patterns, and glamorize our daily lives.
Join the Polymer & Beading Guild on a creative exploration inspired by reflection and the magic of light and color. Guild members will be present at the Reception to greet visitors and give small group tours of the exhibit, describing some of the techniques behind the original creations. During Gallery hours, there will always be a Guild member present to answer questions.
The exhibit will remain open through the Lexington Open Studios Weekend, 4/9 & 4/10
The show includes a Gallery-to-Go section with items available for immediate purchase.
All welcome! Admission and parking are free.
